Job Description
Our client is a key player in the agricultural production sector in Ogun State. They are seeking an experienced, disciplined, and highly independent Finance Manager to serve as the Company's principal financial steward and internal control authority.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Finance Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining rigorous financial discipline across all aspects of our client's operations, including farming activities, processing operations, sales and distribution, procurement, inventory management, capital expenditures, payroll administration, and corporate governance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership

• Lead all financial management activities.

• Develop and implement financial strategies.

• Establish robust financial controls.

• Protect Company assets.

• Improve profitability and cash flow.

• Support strategic decision-making.

Financial Planning & Budgeting
• Develop annual budgets.

• Develop rolling forecasts.

• Establish departmental budgets.

• Monitor budget compliance.

• Conduct variance analysis.

• Recommend corrective actions.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management
• Manage all Company bank accounts.

• Monitor daily cash positions.

• Forecast cash requirements.

• Ensure availability of working capital.

• Optimize cash utilization.

• Develop liquidity management plans.

• Maintain cash reserve policies.

Financial Reporting
Prepare:

• Monthly management accounts.

• Quarterly Board reports.

• Annual financial statements.

• Budget performance reports.

• Cash flow forecasts.

• Working capital reports.

• Capital expenditure reports.

• Financial risk assessments.

Provide accurate and timely reporting to the Board.

Internal Controls & Governance
Design and maintain controls covering:

• Procurement.

• Payments.

• Inventory.

• Fixed assets.

• Payroll.

• Revenue collection.

• Expense management.

• Banking transactions.

Implement segregation of duties.

Ensure financial accountability throughout the organization.

Procurement Oversight
Review all procurement activities.

Ensure:

• Competitive sourcing.

• Cost effectiveness.

• Transparency.

• Proper approvals.

• Supplier due diligence.

Monitor supplier performance and payment obligations.

Inventory & Warehouse Controls
Establish controls over:

• Raw materials.

• Packaging materials.

• Finished goods.

• Spare parts.

Ensure:

• Accurate inventory records.

• Regular stock counts.

• Inventory reconciliation.

• Inventory valuation.

• Shrinkage prevention.

Investigate inventory variances.

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance
Develop systems to monitor:

• Production costs.

• Cost per kilogram produced.

• Cost per carton sold.

• Energy consumption costs.

• Labor costs.

• Waste levels.

• Equipment utilization.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction.

Support pricing decisions through financial analysis.

Farm Financial Management
Oversee:

• Farm operating budgets.

• Input procurement costs.

• Land development expenditures.

• Agricultural productivity metrics.

• Cost per hectare analysis.

• Yield profitability analysis.

Monitor return on agricultural investments.

Revenue Assurance
Monitor:

• Sales reporting.

• Customer collections.

• Distributor receivables.

• Trade promotions.

• Sales incentives.

Ensure accurate revenue recognition.

Prevent revenue leakage.

Risk Management
Identify and monitor:

• Financial risks.

• Operational risks.

• Credit risks.

• Liquidity risks.

• Fraud risks.

• Compliance risks.

Develop mitigation plans.

Provide regular risk reports to the Board.

Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) requirements, State tax obligations, Pension regulations, PAYE regulations, NSITF requirements, Industrial Training Fund obligations, and Food processing and manufacturing regulations.

• Coordinate external audits and regulatory reviews.

Human Resources Financial Oversight
• Review Payroll administration, Employee benefits, Compensation structures, Workforce cost management.

• Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.

Capital Projects & Investments
• Evaluate Equipment purchases, Facility improvements, Expansion projects, Financing proposals.

• Conduct investment analysis and return-on-investment evaluations.

• Provide recommendations to management and the Board.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline

• At least one professional accounting qualification is required.

• MBA or Master's degree is strongly preferred.

• Minimum 8–12 years progressive finance experience.

• Minimum 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.

• Experience managing budgets exceeding ₦500 million preferred.

• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness, food processing, or industrial operations strongly preferred.

• Experience dealing with Boards of Directors.

• Experience establishing financial controls and governance frameworks.
