• SPIE Global Services Energy is currently looking for a Rope Access Welder to join its work force in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
• Manages day to day activities within his specific discipline
• Verifies that all procedures, specifications and standards are followed
• Follows performance of works on site (respect of specification and best practices)
• Assists the preparation team by giving any technical support for preparation of the jobs in his discipline
• In charge to manage, monitor and maintain the welding products & materials stored on site and ensures that all of these products & materials are in good conditions and free from defects – Replaces the unusable materials
• Ensures that the operations planned work scope is managed effectively in accordance with agreed targets to avoid disruption.
• Ensures that day to day requirements are met with regards Scope, Tool and means and onsite risk assessments.
• Ensures that plant, equipment and materials stocks are monitored, and all required certification is in place.
• Shall be responsible for the pre-inspection of the welding Machine and its accessories prior to usage.
• Identifies present and potential problems, reports and discuss and proposes solutions/alternatives
• Ensures awareness with KPI requirements
• Shall ensure that the work place is safe, fit for all hot work activities.
• Shall be able to interpret an approved PQR/WPS
• Shall carry out Welding Operation in accordance to the quality requirements for the scope and PQR/WPS.
• Shall be conversant with basic ethics aimed at controlling quality of works
• Undertakes any other duties which may be required (within individuals Competency) to ensure in the smooth running of the operation.
• Reports to the Fabric Maintenance Supervisor.
Profile The holder of this position must have the following qualifications:
• OND in Engineering Discipline or equivalent.
• Diploma holder with ASME/API code qualification (WQT), including 6G certification, coppernickel, duplex
• At least five years experience as a pipe/structural welder in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience in Offshore construction, Installation, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning in an Oil and Gas
• Exploration and Production Industry preferably on an FPSO with good knowledge of the HSE aspects
• Ability to work in a large multinational team
• Ability to work independently while maintaining good relations with colleagues and others
• Physical ability to work on offshore installations in the climatic conditions of the site
• Working language: English mandatory, French is an advantage.
