Responsibilities:

• Originate and close deals: Lead the end-to-end process of deal origination, negotiation, and closing to secure substantial clients and revenue.

• Develop strategic partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and clients to drive business growth.

• Drive business growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging market insights and industry trends to expand our client base.

• Lead business development initiatives: Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.

• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with the marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of business strategies.

• Provide strategic counsel: Leverage your business acumen to advise the leadership team on market trends, the competitive landscape, and strategic investments.

• Mentor and develop talent: Contribute to the development of a high-performing business development team by providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship opportunities.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities by researching and analysing market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.

• Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients, understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions.

• Lead negotiations and manage the sales process from initial contact to contract signing, ensuring a smooth and successful client onboarding experience.

• Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to potential clients and partners.

• Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement effective marketing strategies and campaigns that drive lead generation and brand awareness.

• Track and report on key business development metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends to ensure our business development strategies remain competitive and effective.

• Provide regular updates and reports to the leadership team on business development activities, pipeline status, and revenue projections.

• Represent Spurt! At industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance our visibility and attract new clients.

• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the business development team, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree is required.

• Professional certifications, such as an MBA or equivalent, are highly preferred.

• Extensive experience in business development, deal origination, and client relationship management.

• Proven track record in closing substantial deals and driving revenue growth in a B2B SaaS environment.

• Expertise in market analysis, competitive intelligence, and strategic planning.

• Experience in navigating complex sales cycles and managing multiple stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, subscription-based pricing, and recurring revenue models.

• Understanding of recurring revenue models, subscription-based pricing, and SaaS metrics.

• Experience in capital structure optimisation, cash flow management, and working capital management.

• Knowledge of technology trends, industry regulations, and their financial implications.

• Proven ability to develop and implement business strategies that align with organisational objectives.

• Skilled in conducting market research, risk assessment, and opportunity identification.

• Familiarity with mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, and investor relations.

• Strong oral communication skills (via phone, email, and in-person).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify opportunities and drive process improvements.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, mentor, and manage a high-performing business development team.

• Proficiency in business intelligence tools and CRM software.

• Excellent writing and communication ability, including proven success in presenting ideas and concepts effectively and persuasively.

• Excellent organisational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritise work.
