Job Description
Role purpose

Drive commercial growth across the downstream petroleum business by securing high-value supply contracts, building strategic partnerships, and expanding the company's presence with government, military and commercial off-takers. The role converts market intelligence and industry relationships into a sustainable pipeline of profitable transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business across downstream petroleum supply, storage and distribution, with a focus on government, military and large commercial off-takers.

• Lead contract negotiations, tender submissions and commercial bids with relevant agencies, regulators, the Armed Forces, depot operators and private-sector clients.

• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, IOCs, NOCs, trading partners and logistics providers.

• Develop and execute market-expansion strategies for petroleum products including PMS, AGO, DPK and aviation fuel (ATK).

• Monitor pricing structures, regulatory developments and local-content requirements to identify and act on emerging opportunities.

• Coordinate with operations, finance and legal teams to ensure transactions meet HSE standards, regulatory requirements and corporate governance.

• Prepare commercial proposals, feasibility assessments and investment cases for executive management.

• Track pipeline development, revenue and margin against targets, reporting regularly to leadership.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Petroleum Economics, Business Administration, Energy Management or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 to 12 years' experience in business development or commercial roles within the Nigerian oil and gas sector, with downstream exposure.

• Demonstrated track record of winning high-value contracts and managing tender and bid processes.

• Strong working knowledge of the Nigerian downstream regulatory environment, petroleum trading, logistics and depot operations.

• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong proposal-writing and presentation ability.

• Established network across regulators, the Armed Forces, IOCs, NOCs and trading partners.

• Experience with depot, storage or infrastructure transactions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
