The Vice President, Sales – Nigeria is responsible for leading the company's sales strategy, revenue growth, market expansion, and customer acquisition initiatives across Nigeria. The role will drive the development and execution of strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives, strengthen customer relationships, and position the company as a leading provider of technology solutions and services.
The incumbent will provide leadership to the sales organization, develop high-performing teams, identify new business opportunities, and ensure sustainable profitability and market share growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Develop and execute the overall sales strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and growth targets.
• Identify market opportunities, industry trends, and competitive dynamics to drive strategic decision-making.
• Lead the development of annual sales plans, budgets, and revenue forecasts.
• Drive market penetration and expansion across key sectors including financial services, telecommunications, government, manufacturing, and enterprise businesses.
Revenue Growth & Business Development
• Deliver annual and quarterly revenue and profitability targets.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and large enterprise accounts.
• Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline to ensure predictable revenue generation.
• Lead negotiations and closure of high-value contracts and strategic deals.
Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term account retention.
• Drive strategic account management and customer engagement initiatives.
• Serve as the executive sponsor for key accounts and major projects.
Sales Operations & Performance Management
• Establish sales performance metrics and monitor team productivity.
• Develop sales processes, policies, and governance frameworks to improve efficiency.
• Implement effective forecasting and reporting mechanisms.
• Review sales performance regularly and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team.
• Establish a performance-driven culture with clear goals and accountability.
• Identify talent gaps and implement succession and capability development plans.
• Foster collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Technical teams.
Stakeholder Management
• Collaborate with executive leadership to define growth priorities and strategic initiatives.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and executive meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, partners, and regulators.
Governance & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain high standards of ethical business conduct and corporate governance.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.
• Professional certifications in Sales, Marketing, or Leadership are desirable.
• Minimum of 12–15 years of progressive experience in B2B sales, with at least 5 years in a senior sales leadership role within the Information Technology industry.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
• Experience selling enterprise technology solutions, managed services, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, software, or digital transformation services.
