Job Description
Job Title: Account Manager (Finance)
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Department: Finance & Accounts
Salary: 800,000 Gross
About the Role
Givanas Cosmetics is seeking an experienced Account Manager to oversee day-to-day financial accounting and reporting operations. This is a hands-on finance leadership role suited to a chartered accountant with strong FMCG/manufacturing exposure who can manage the full accounting cycle, ensure regulatory compliance, and support cost/inventory-heavy operations typical of a production business.
What You'll Do
Manage the full accounts function: general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS
Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, and fixed asset management — critical given Givanas' manufacturing operations
Ensure full statutory tax compliance: VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT filings and liaison with FIRS/LIRS
Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis for management decision-making
Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and banks
Maintain and strengthen internal controls across financial processes
Supervise and review the work of accounts officers/junior finance staff
Support intercompany reconciliations and reporting where relevant, given the Group's multi-subsidiary structure
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support cost control and profitability
What You Need
Minimum 6–8 years' post-qualification finance/accounting experience
ACA (ICAN) required; ACCA also acceptable
BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field (HND considered with strong compensating experience)
Prior experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or a production/inventory-heavy business strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting: reporting, tax, reconciliations, internal controls
Experience with ERP/accounting software (SAP, Sage, Tally, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills
Prior title of "Account Manager," "Senior Accountant," or "Finance Manager" (or equivalent scope) preferred
Strong communication skills — able to work cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders
