At The Paper Packaging Company (TPPC), every figure matters - from production costs and inventory to financial planning and business growth. As we continue expanding, we're looking for an Accountant who doesn't just balance the books, but helps drive smarter business decisions .
The Accountant role at The Paper Packaging Company is a full-time, on-site position based in Lagos. The individual in this role will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, preparing and reconciling ledgers, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities include preparing financial statements and reports, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and payments, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The Accountant will assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, cost tracking, and financial analysis to support management decisions. The role also involves ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, and collaborating with other departments to provide timely financial information.
Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, reconciliations, and familiarity with relevant accounting standards.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and productivity tools, such as ERP or accounting systems, Zoho, spreadsheets, and basic data analysis applications.
• Candidates should possess sound knowledge of local tax laws, compliance requirements, and internal control practices to ensure accurate filings and risk management.
• Candidates should possess solid analytical, problem-solving, and numeracy skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support business decision-making.
• Candidates should possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
• Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications (e.g., I CAN, ACA, ACCA) are an added advantage.
• Prior experience as an Accountant or in a similar finance role, ideally within manufacturing or FMCG, and an interest in sustainability and eco-friendly products would be an added advantage.
