Job Summary
• We are recruiting an accomplished and commercially driven business development manager to drive business growth across the upstream and downstream oil and gas sector for a leading provider of quality assurance, industrial laboratory, inspection, sustainability, GHG management, and procurement services.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing high-value contracts, building strategic relationships with operators, refineries, EPC contractors, and oilfield service companies, while driving business development across the company's service portfolio.
• This role requires a highly connected business development professional with proven experience navigating oil and gas procurement processes and delivering measurable commercial results.
• Ultimately, you will expand the company's footprint within the oil and gas industry, strengthen strategic partnerships, and drive sustainable revenue growth through successful contract acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute business development strategies across the upstream and downstream oil and gas sector.
• Identify, pursue, and secure new contracts across quality assurance, inspection, industrial laboratory, sustainability, GHG management, and procurement services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with operators, refineries, marketers, EPC contractors, and other key stakeholders.
• Lead vendor registration, contractor prequalification, tender submissions, and proposal development activities.
• Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting through contract negotiation and award.
• Grow existing client accounts through cross-selling and upselling of company services.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, procurement opportunities, and regulatory developments.
• Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline and prepare regular sales forecasts and performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with industry procurement requirements, including NipeX registration and Nigerian Content requirements.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5–8 years' experience in business development, sales, or commercial management, with at least 3 years' experience within the upstream or downstream oil and gas sector.
• Proven track record of securing and managing high-value oil and gas contracts.
• Strong understanding of oil and gas procurement processes, contractor prequalification, competitive tendering, and industry compliance requirements.
• Experience managing vendor registration processes, including platforms such as NipeX, is highly desirable.
• Established network of decision-makers within operators, refineries, EPC contractors, and oilfield service companies.
• Excellent negotiation, proposal writing, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
• Willingness to travel as required across the assigned territory.
