Job Description
The Finance Business Partner (Kolomoni) is a critical analytical and operational role that acts as the financial heartbeat of our digital banking/loan operations. This position goes beyond traditional accounting; you will be the bridge between financial data and operational decision-making. You are responsible for ensuring the integrity of Kolomonis financial records optimizing cost management and providing the weekly/monthly intelligence that drives our strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue & Loan Operations Accounting

• Interest & Fee Integrity: Ensure precise accounting of all interest and fee-based income generated from digital/app-based and manual loan products.

• Accruals & Reconciliations: Perform rigorous periodic accruals and reconciliations to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with IFRS standards.

• Loan/Deposit Reporting: Maintain high-frequency reporting on loan portfolios and deposit balances ensuring 100% alignment between core banking systems and the general ledger.

2. Expense & Payroll Management

• Operational Accounting: Oversee the full spectrum of expense accounting including loan disbursement charges interest on deposits/borrowings and day-to-day operating expenses (OPEX).

• Cut-off Integrity: Enforce strict accrual and cut-off procedures to ensure financial statements reflect the true economic activity of the period.

• Payroll Stewardship: Process payroll end-to-end ensuring accurate statutory deductions tax compliance and seamless benefit administration.

3. Treasury Intercompany & Asset Control

• Bank Reconciliations: Conduct timely bank reconciliations proactively investigating and resolving discrepancies.

• Intercompany Governance: Manage and reconcile inter-company balances across the Group ensuring timely settlements and robust audit-trail documentation.

• Fixed Assets: Serve as the custodian of the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) ensuring accurate monthly depreciation entries and physical verification.

• Group Cost Allocation: Diligently account for group-level shared costs ensuring proper allocation and transparency.

4. Performance Reporting & Strategy

• Weekly MIS Intelligence: Lead the preparation of weekly Management Information System (MIS) reports covering:

• Loan and deposit performance.

• Intercompany status.

• Inter-bank payables/receivables.

• Real-time cash and bank liquidity positions.

• Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts with deep-dive variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget vs. Forecast).

• Strategic Insights: Provide actionable insights on financial performance and the key drivers (KPIs) behind our profitability.

5. Regulatory Compliance

• Reporting & Submissions: Own the preparation and timely submission of all mandatory regulatory returns to the CBN/relevant authorities.

• Compliance Assurance: Act as the internal authority on regulatory guidelines ensuring that all financial operations remain fully compliant.

Requirements
Requirements

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.

• Professional Qualification: ACA or ACCA (Chartered Accountant) is mandatory.

• Experience: 46 years of experience in financial accounting preferably within the FinTech Microfinance or Banking sectors.

• Technical Skills:

• Expert-level proficiency in Excel (Financial Modeling/Data Analysis).

• Hands-on experience with Core Banking Systems (CBS) and ERPs (e.g. SAP Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics).

• Deep understanding of IFRS and Nigerian tax/labor laws.

• Attributes: Sharp analytical mind ability to translate complex data into business narratives and high integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
