About the Role Our client, a leading tertiary hospital in Aba, Abia , is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Critical Care Unit. This on-site position is essential for providing expert care to critically ill patients. You will work as part of a dedicated team, utilizing advanced medical knowledge and critical thinking skills to manage complex patient conditions. Key Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Critical Care Unit. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians. Monitor vital signs, patient conditions, and responses to treatment closely. Operate and manage critical care equipment, such as ventilators, defibrillators, and cardiac monitors. Provide continuous emotional and physical support to patients and their families. Collaborate effectively with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and ancillary staff. Document patient care accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records. Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences. Maintain current knowledge and competency in critical care nursing through ongoing education and training. Requirements A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required. Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nigeria. Minimum of 3 years of experience as an RN in a critical care setting (ICU, CCU, ED). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory. Proven proficiency in critical care skills, including advanced hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation management, and critical care pharmacology. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities. Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Commitment to patient safety and quality care. Willingness to work full-time, including rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required for on-site care.
