Role Description The Head of Credit and Marketing (Microfinance Bank) is a full-time, on-site role based in Benin City. This role leads the design and implementation of credit policies, oversees loan underwriting and approval processes, and ensures adherence to regulatory and internal risk standards. The individual manages credit portfolio performance, monitors delinquency and recovery efforts, and collaborates with operations and finance to maintain healthy asset quality.
On the marketing side, the role develops and executes marketing and customer acquisition strategies, drives brand positioning for the microfinance bank, and coordinates targeted campaigns for retail and SME clients. The Head of Credit and Marketing will supervise and coach team members, analyze market trends and client needs, prepare regular performance reports, and support strategic decision-making for sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Strong credit management skills, including credit analysis, risk assessment, loan structuring, and portfolio monitoring.

• Experience in marketing within financial services, including brand development, customer acquisition, and campaign management.

• Proven leadership and people management abilities, with experience supervising teams and driving performance.

• Solid knowledge of microfinance operations, regulatory requirements, and compliance practices in the banking sector.

• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in using data and reporting tools to inform decisions.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or a related field; a relevant professional certification or postgraduate degree is an advantage.

• Demonstrated experience in a senior credit or marketing role within a microfinance institution or similar financial organization.

• Ability to work on-site in Benin City, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
