Job Description
Megawatts Nigeria Limited is seeking an experienced and technically strong Project Manager – Engineering to oversee and coordinate multiple project sites from inception through completion.
The successful candidate will provide technical and project leadership, oversee project budgets and schedules, advise Project Engineers, coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, and make appropriate project-level decisions in line with Management's objectives, approved engineering standards and project requirements.
The role requires a hands-on engineering professional who can manage multiple priorities, provide sound technical direction and ensure projects are delivered effectively, efficiently and in accordance with approved specifications.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate activities across multiple project sites.
• Manage project activities from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with approved scope, budget, schedule and quality requirements.
• Prepare engineering analyses for projects, including preliminary designs, engineering calculations, life-cycle cost assessments and equipment selection.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather field data for prospective and ongoing projects.
• Provide technical guidance and advice to Project Engineers and project teams.
• Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other engineering visual aids.
• Prepare and review technical construction specifications for projects.
• Perform engineering duties relating to infrastructure and building projects, including public works, buildings, subdivisions, drainage, roads, traffic systems, airports, tunnels, bridges, water supply, sewage and environmental systems, as applicable to assigned projects.
• Attend project and site meetings and provide technical and management input.
• Make appropriate project-level decisions on behalf of Management within delegated authority.
• Manage project issues, budgets, schedules and technical risks.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely identification and resolution of issues affecting project delivery.
• Review and provide technical input on proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, specifications and technical details.
• Review development plans for compliance with applicable engineering standards, approved requirements and good engineering practices.
• Coordinate the activities of project teams and ensure effective collaboration across relevant engineering and project functions.
• Monitor project performance against approved scope, budget, schedule and technical requirements.
• Provide regular project updates and escalate significant technical, financial or operational issues to the Head of Engineering.
• Ensure compliance with applicable HSE requirements and Company policies across project sites.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by Management.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree/HND in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related engineering discipline, depending on the project portfolio.
• Proven experience in project management within an engineering, construction, MEP or infrastructure environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple project sites simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project planning and project execution.
• Experience with engineering analysis, design calculations, equipment selection and technical specifications.
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, scope and technical risks.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications and technical documentation.
• Strong experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance to Project Engineers and other technical personnel.
• Strong decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and reporting skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel between project locations as required.
• Professional engineering certification/registration will be an advantage.
• Relevant project management certification such as PMP will be an advantage.
