ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is operating in industrial piping, engineering, and construction services to upstream Oil & Gas companies in Nigeria. Their key activities include steel and piping fabrication, flowline modification, procurement and engineering, commissioning and start-up, and telecom and electrical installations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking for a Construction Manager Onshore who will oversee the construction activities for large-scale oil and gas projects, with a focus on steel structures and piping fabrication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Project Management & Execution:
• Lead and coordinate all construction activities across multiple project phases, from site preparation through mechanical completion and commissioning.
• Develop and maintain detailed construction execution plans, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management strategies.
• Oversee multiple construction contractors and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project objectives and quality standards.
• Monitor project progress against established milestones and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Technical Leadership:
• Review and approve construction methodologies and technical documentation.
• Resolve complex technical issues during construction activities.
• Ensure proper implementation of quality control procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to construction supervisors and contractors.
• Safety & Compliance:
• Enforce strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits and ensure the implementation of preventive measures.
• Maintain compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and client specifications.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions when required.
• Stakeholder Management:
• Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
• Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects involving steel structures and piping fabrication.
• Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, standards, and regulations.

Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
• Strong understanding of steel structure and piping fabrication processes and techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
