The Head, Digital Sales Strategy will lead the growth, commercial performance, and strategic development of the agent banking, POS, and alternative sales channels. The role will be responsible for driving agent acquisition and activation, channel productivity, transaction growth, customer acquisition, revenue generation, and overall channel profitability, while ensuring scalable and sustainable growth across all digital sales channels. The ideal candidate must be a commercially driven leader who can turn an agent network into a high-volume, high-revenue and profitable distribution channel.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the Bank’s Channel Sales and Agent Banking strategy.

• Drive recruitment, onboarding, activation and retention of agents and merchants.

• Set and achieve monthly and annual targets for agents, transactions, customers, deposits and revenue.

• Build and manage a high-performing field sales team across assigned territories.

• Identify high-potential markets and expand the Bank’s agent/POS network.

• Improve productivity and transaction volumes of existing agents.

• Monitor agent and POS performance and implement reactivation strategies for inactive agents.

• Develop agent incentive, commission and performance programmes.

• Drive customer acquisition and cross-selling of the Bank’s products through agents.

• Monitor channel revenue, transaction volumes, deposits, float and profitability.

• Build strategic relationships with super agents, aggregators, merchants and other channel partners.

• Provide regular performance reports and actionable recommendations to Management.

Key Performance Indicators:

Performance will be measured primarily by:

• Active and productive agents

• Agent acquisition and activation rate

• Transaction volume and value

• Channel revenue and profitability

• Revenue per active agent/POS

• Customer acquisition

• Deposits generated through channels

• Agent retention

• Sales team productivity

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics or a related field.

• 8–12 years’ relevant experience, with at least 5 years in sales/channel management.

• Proven experience in agent banking, POS, fintech, payments, microfinance or commercial banking.

• Strong understanding of the Nigerian agency banking and payments ecosystem.

• Demonstrated ability to build and manage distributed sales networks.

• Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation and leadership skills.

• Ability to work with aggressive targets and deliver measurable revenue growth.
