Role Description:

The Technical Financial Accountant with MicroFinance Bank expertise will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements and reports in line with regulatory and internal standards. This full-time hybrid role, based in Lekki with some work-from-home flexibility, involves maintaining accurate ledgers, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely month-end and year-end closing. The role includes monitoring microfinance banking operations from a financial perspective, supporting regulatory filings, and ensuring compliance with relevant microfinance and digital banking regulations.

The accountant will collaborate with operations, product, and compliance teams to provide financial insights, support audits, and optimize financial processes and controls. The role also requires continuous improvement of accounting workflows and reporting tools to support WayaBank’s growth and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong skills in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, including preparation, analysis, and reconciliation.
• Candidates should possess solid Finance and Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making in a microfinance and digital banking context.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in Accounting Software and related financial systems used for ledger management, reporting, and compliance.
• Relevant academic qualifications such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA) are an advantage.
• Experience in microfinance banking, digital banking, or financial services, including familiarity with Nigerian regulatory requirements and CBN guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
• Effective communication skills for presenting financial information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
