Job Summary
• An assistant class teacher shall provide support to the lead teacher in creating a positive learning environment.
• The assistant helps manage classroom activities, provides individual or group instruction, and ensures students are engaged and focused.
• This role involves assisting with lesson plans, assessments, and classroom organization.
Job Responsibilities
• Classroom Support: Assist the lead teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities.
• Student Support: Provide additional help to students who require extra support, whether individually or in small groups.
• Supervision: Supervise students during breaks, lunch, transitions between classes or drop off and pick up.
• Lesson Preparation: Help with the preparation of teaching materials, classroom setup, and organisation.
• Assessments: Assist in grading student assignments, marking work, and helping students with feedback.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff about student progress and classroom needs.
• Behaviour Management: Support the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment by helping with student discipline and conflict resolution.
• Technology Assistance: Help incorporate technology into lessons, assisting students with using digital resources or tools.
• Others: Undertake any other duty assigned.
Requirements
• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
• A PGDE / Master's in Education and a background in EYFS education will be an added advantage.
• Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria TRCN certificate will be an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years work experience in a good school.
