Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute vessel chartering strategies in line with business requirements.
• Source and evaluate suitable vessels based on cargo requirements, trading routes, vessel specifications and market conditions.
• Negotiate charter party agreements, freight rates, hire rates, demurrage and other commercial terms with shipowners, brokers and charterers.
• Manage voyage, time and/or bareboat charter arrangements, as applicable.
• Monitor freight and charter markets to identify commercial opportunities and manage market risks.
• Maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, brokers, agents and other industry stakeholders.
• Review vessel and counterparty documentation, including certificates, insurance, class records and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with Operations, Marine, Finance, Legal and other relevant teams to ensure smooth execution of charter contracts.
• Monitor vessel performance, voyage schedules, laytime, demurrage/despatch and other contractual obligations.
• Review and resolve claims, disputes, off-hire matters and contractual issues.
• Ensure chartering activities comply with applicable maritime regulations, company policies, sanctions and industry standards.
• Prepare chartering reports, market updates, cost analyses and performance reports for management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis for the chartering portfolio.
• Identify opportunities to improve vessel utilisation, profitability and operational efficiency.
• Supervise and provide guidance to chartering officers/executives where applicable.
Requirement
• Interested candidates should possess a minimum of 8 years experience.
