Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Supply Chain Manager to lead strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics, inventory, supplier management, and supply chain operations supporting upstream oil and gas activities.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in supply chain/procurement, including at least 5 years in a leadership position within the upstream oilfield services sector. The individual must have strong experience managing international procurement, complex logistics, suppliers/OEMs, and materials/equipment for major EPC, IOC, or oilfield service projects.

The role requires strong commercial acumen, negotiation capability, analytical skills, and the ability to lead a high-performing supply chain team while ensuring materials and equipment are delivered safely, compliantly, cost-effectively, and in line with project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's supply chain strategy in alignment with business and operational objectives.

• Lead the end-to-end procurement process from sourcing and RFQ issuance through bid evaluation, negotiation, purchase order placement, expediting, and contract administration.

• Develop strategic sourcing strategies for materials, equipment, services, and critical project requirements.

• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and manage OEMs, manufacturers, distributors, freight forwarders, subcontractors, and logistics partners.

• Lead complex commercial negotiations covering price, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, Incoterms, quality requirements, and contractual obligations.

• Manage international sourcing, importation, shipping, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and local transportation.

• Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment in accordance with project schedules and customer commitments.

• Coordinate procurement activities in support of tenders, bids, EPC projects, and oilfield service contracts.

• Work closely with Business Development, Sales, Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Project teams to ensure procurement strategies support commercial and project objectives.

• Establish supplier performance KPIs and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and reliability.

• Conduct spend analysis, cost benchmarking, supply market analysis, and supply chain analytics to identify savings and efficiency opportunities.

• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure effective materials planning and availability.

• Identify supply chain risks, including supplier, logistics, FX, lead-time, customs, and availability risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, applicable procurement regulations, NCDMB requirements, local content requirements, and corporate governance standards.

• Maintain appropriate procurement documentation, supplier records, contracts, purchase orders, shipping documents, and import/export documentation.

• Ensure effective utilization of ERP systems, particularly SAP, for procurement, inventory, supplier, and reporting activities.

• Prepare procurement, supplier performance, spend, savings, logistics, and supply chain reports for management.

• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop the supply chain team.

• Drive process improvement, cost optimization, operational efficiency, and supply chain resilience.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or another relevant discipline.

• Minimum of 10 years' continuous experience in supply chain, procurement, materials management, or a closely related function.

• Minimum of 5 years' leadership experience within upstream oilfield services/oil and gas.

• Demonstrated experience managing international procurement and complex logistics.

• Proven experience supporting major EPC, IOC, or oilfield service projects.

• Strong experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.

• Strong knowledge of import/export processes, customs clearance, freight forwarding, shipping, and international logistics.

• Experience with tendering, RFQs, bid evaluation, commercial negotiations, and contract administration.

• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP.

• Excellent Excel and supply chain analytics skills.

• Experience managing OEMs, manufacturers, distributors, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.

• Strong understanding of oil and gas procurement requirements and local content/NCDMB compliance.

Professional Certifications

Professional certifications such as:

• CIPS – Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply

• CPSM – Certified Professional in Supply Management

• APICS/ASCM – Association for Supply Chain Management

• CSCP – Certified Supply Chain Professional

• Equivalent supply chain/procurement certifications

are desirable.

A Master's degree or MBA will be an advantage.

Target Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should come from an upstream oilfield services, EPC, IOC, or closely related oil and gas environment.

Candidates whose experience is primarily in general FMCG, retail, banking, hospitality, or non-oil-and-gas procurement without substantial upstream/project exposure will not be prioritised.

Pay: ₦700,000.00 - ₦1,000,000.00 per month
