JOB DETAILS;
• We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for a major crude and gas pipeline project.
• The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical oversight and project engineering support for the crude and gas pipeline project, ensuring alignment with the overall project objectives.
• Manage engineering deliverables, review technical documents, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including design, procurement, and construction.
• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards such as API, ASME, and ISO, as well as project-specific requirements.
• Liaise with the client, contractors, and third-party stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Review contractor’s work, engineering drawings, technical documents, and ensure adherence to project scope and specifications.
• Assist in procurement activities including technical bid evaluations, vendor selection, and materials management.
• Ensure HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) compliance across all engineering and construction activities.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
• Support contract administration, change management, and project control processes.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Pipeline Engineering (or related field).
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in oil & gas pipeline projects, with at least 10 years in a PMC or EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) role.
• Proven experience in crude oil and natural gas pipeline design, construction, and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of pipeline routing, hydraulics, stress analysis, and material selection.
• Familiarity with pipeline integrity, corrosion protection, and pigging operations.
• Experience working in remote or challenging environments as an expatriate is preferred.
• Knowledge of international standards and codes such as API 5L, ASME B31.4/B31.8, ASTM, and ISO.
• Proficient in project management tools and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, CAESAR II, Pipeline Studio, or similar).
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience working with national oil companies (NOCs) and international clients.
• Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
• Previous experience managing multi-cultural teams in an international setting.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
