Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Lekki Phase1, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Department: Accounts / Finance

Reports to: Senior Accountant / Finance Manager

Job Description
• The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting in day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the preparation of financial reports.
• The role involves handling basic accounting tasks, data entry, bank reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements and reports.
• Record daily financial transactions (e.g., journal entries, invoices, receipts, and payments).
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances.
• Support payroll processing and ensure timely disbursement of salaries.
• Prepare and file tax documents (e.g., VAT, PAYE, WHT) in compliance with local regulations.
• Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for financial documents.
• Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation.
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager.

Qualification And Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.

Other Requirements
• Professional certification or ongoing studies (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
• Experience in preparing tax returns or financial statements.

Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations.

Remunerations

N150,000 / Month (Net).
